Beaverhead Flat Scenic Overlook

You’ll have an unobstructed view of the night sky from this seldom used scenic overlook.

This little-known destination is the perfect place to view the night sky. Set up your camera and tripod and get ready to shoot the Milky Way, visible during the summer months.

Tip: Turn right into the entrance, cross the cattle guard and turn right to the parking lot.

 

Driving Directions: From the Visitor Center, 331 Forest Road, turn right on SR 89A. At the circle, take the 3rd exit to SR 179 for 10.6 miles. Turn right on Beaverhead Flat Road 1.0 miles to the parking on the right.

Amenities: Pet-friendly (leash required). This location is just a few miles south of the Village of Oak Creek.
