Now in its 5th year, this popular Christmas train is a beloved holiday highlight for Arizona families. With cozy living room-style seating and access to adjoining open-air cars, the Magical Christmas Journey™ is a one hour round-trip, an abbreviated journey from the railroad’s standard ride and perfect for even the tiniest tot. Along the way, illuminated animals beckon the train towards the North Pole, and arrival at Santa’s Workshop provides a thrill never to be forgotten. A dozen fun, full-size, brilliantly illuminated buildings, animated with live elves and storybook animals, inspires the imagination and holiday spirit of all passengers. The train slowly cruises past the Polar Post Office…Reindeer Flight School… Mrs. Claus’ Bakery…Santa’s Workshop…. the Ugly Sweater Factor… the Naughty Kids’ Coal Mine…before a brief stop to pick up one extra special passenger, Jolly Ol’ St Nick himself, ready to visit with every child and share a small gift on the way back to Clarkdale. Full bar service is available on board the train, including spirits-free options such as fancy hot cocoa to add to the festive vibes.
The fun begins at the depot prior to the train’s departure, with a Birds Eye Village with adorably decorated buildings and a live bald eagle, “Flurry,” the star of the Magical Christmas Journey™ story, abundant photo-ops, delicious treats and toddies, friendly elves and a beautiful Christmas princess.
