‘Elle’ and ‘Neruda’ Film Premieres

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premieres of the Golden Globe Award Best Foreign Language Film nominees “Elle” and “Neruda” showing Jan. 13-19 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. Both films will show three times each over that week. “Elle” was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actress for Isabelle Huppert. “Neruda” was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Daily Guided Nature Walk

Every morning a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park and sharing their knowledge of geology, wildlife, park history, archaeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk. Hikes are included with park entrance fees. No reservations required.

22nd Annual Quilt Show at Sedona Public Library

The 22nd Annual Quilt Show at the Sedona Public Library is on display through February 25, 2017. Fifty-eight quilts handcrafted by talented quilters throughout Arizona can be viewed Monday-Saturday, during the Library’s normal operating hours. The show represents a variety of quilting styles and techniques. This year, it also features two “Opportunity Quilts” that are being raffled to benefit local community organizations. The show has been organized by the Quilter’s Store Sedona since 1995.

A Game for the Gods: Mesoamerican Ball Courts in Arizona and Central America

Dr. Todd Bostwick, our Director of Archaeology, will present current ideas about Hohokam ball courts and their importance in facilitating trade and resolving social conflicts in prehistoric Arizona. Let’s Get Fit! Walk

Let’s Get Fit! Walk is a power walk that is scheduled for every Tuesday at 4:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. The walk begins with stretching led by a personal trainer and then the walkers go up Jordan Rd., taking some side streets and ending up at the Jordan Trail Head then return to the start point.
