Renegades Art Show Benefits Verde Valley Caregivers

Following successful art shows last year, a group of artists calling itself The Renegades will exhibit a wide-ranging collection of art works in March at the Sedona Arts Center. The exhibit is open each day between 10 am and 5 pm. Sales from the show will benefit the Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition, a worthy local charity supporting older adults in maintaining their independence and quality of life at home.

Daily Guided Nature Walk

Every morning a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park and sharing their knowledge of geology, wildlife, park history, archaeology, and plant life. The naturalists welcome questions during the walk. Hikes are included with park entrance fees. No reservations required.

Acrylics Crash Course with Claudia Hartley

Using photos or still life, students will learn how to create an exciting and successful painting using acrylics. Class will learn how to plan a good composition and how to mix good clean colors. Claudia will guide you in good drawing for painting while headed toward a modern style. Be willing to experiment. Open to all levels. With materials included, all barriers have been removed so that you can explore the fun of painting. Just bring yourself and clothing that you could get some paint on!

Let’s Get Fit! Walk

Let’s Get Fit! Walk is a power walk that is scheduled for every Tuesday at 4:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. The walk begins with stretching led by a personal trainer and then the walkers go up Jordan Rd., taking some side streets and ending up at the Jordan Trail Head then return to the start point. Under The Surface

This work focuses on the meditative process and sub conscience zone that people find themselves in while creating. The repetitive rhythm which Sarah Denise use in their work is reflective of their inner self or what is “under the surface” of the piece and not available to the eye.
