Painting Sedona with Bill Cramer

This will be an enjoyable and intense weekend workshop involving painting on-site in the Sedona landscape. We will learn the advantages of plein air painting, as well as the various approaches to working on-site and how to efficiently compose and complete plein air paintings. Students of all abilities are welcome although all students should have a basic familiarity with the painting medium of their choice.

Renegades Art Show Benefits Verde Valley Caregivers

Following successful art shows last year, a group of artists calling itself The Renegades will exhibit a wide-ranging collection of art works in March at the Sedona Arts Center. The exhibit is open each day between 10 am and 5 pm. Sales from the show will benefit the Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition, a worthy local charity supporting older adults in maintaining their independence and quality of life at home.

Under The Surface

This work focuses on the meditative process and sub conscience zone that people find themselves in while creating. The repetitive rhythm which Sarah Denise use in their work is reflective of their inner self or what is “under the surface” of the piece and not available to the eye.

Wednesday and Saturday Bird Walks at Red Rock State Park

Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginner and advanced birders. The Audubon Society has designated Red Rock State Park as an Important Birding Area (IBA) because of the many species that live or visit here. Please meet up with the leader on the viewing deck above the Visitor Center. (Yearly Bird Hike Times: 9:00 A.M. Dec. Jan. Feb., 8:00 A.M. Mar. Apr. May Sept. Oct. Nov., 7:00 A.M. June July Aug.)

‘Wilson’ Film Premiere

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of “Wilson” — starring Woody Harrelson, Laura Dern, Judy Greer and Cheryl Hines — showing March 24-29 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. A cantankerous, middle-aged eccentric goes in search of the daughter he never knew he had in “Wilson”, an imaginative and often hilarious journey of self-discovery from director Craig Johnson. The film recently premiered to critical and audience acclaim at Sundance.
