The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for our area Sunday through 6 pm Friday, June 13-18, 2021

EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING

WHAT:  Dangerously hot conditions.  Daytime temps ranging from 98-108 degrees Sunday, then rising to 100-112 degrees from Monday through at least next Friday.
WHERE:  Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons, Yavapai County Mountains, Yavapai County Valleys and Basins
WHEN:  Noon Sunday to 6 pm Friday
IMPACTS:  Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working outdoors or participating in outdoor activities.
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Stay in an air-conditioned room
• Stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors
• Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances
• Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside
• When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening
• Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
• Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible
