Pyramid Mountain

Hike the Scorpion Trail 0.9 miles to the Pyramid trail.  At the junction, find a quiet spot to take in the views or sit and meditate.  Continue the Pyramid trail 1.2 miles with fabulous views of Cathedral Rock, back to the parking lot.  You may also hike this as an out-and-back trail for a 2.4-mile round trip hike. 

Tip:  For another view of the “Pyramid”, hike the Airport Loop Trail to Table Top Trail.

Driving Directions:  From the Visitor Center, 331 Forest Road, turn right on 89A for 4.2 miles to Upper Red Rock Loop Road.  Turn left for 1.5 miles to dirt parking lot on the left across from Chavez Ranch Road.  

Amenities:  Impressive red rock views, lesser used trail, cooler in the morning, but lovely lighting on Cathedral Rock later in the day as the sun sets in the west.
