Baldwin Trail to Red Rock Crossing

The Baldwin Trail, named for a former owner of Crescent Moon Ranch, is a 1.75-mile loop with lovely views of Cathedral Rock and other unnamed rock formations. For a shorter hike, take the trail in a clockwise direction (turn right at the large trail map) for 0.3 miles to the Templeton Trail.  Turn left for 0.5 miles to the end across from Red Rock Crossing or turn right for 0.3 miles to a shady spot where Oak Creek meets the trail.

Tip:  For a longer hike, incorporate the 1.75-mile Baldwin Loop at the beginning of your hike or at the end.

Driving Directions:  From the Visitor Center, 331 Forest Road, turn right on 89A.  At the circle, take the 3rd exit to 179 for 7.3 miles.  Turn right on Verde Valley School Road for 4.5 miles to the Baldwin Trailhead parking on the left.

Amenities:   Restrooms, pet friendly (leash required), Red Rock Pass required and may be purchased at the trailhead with a credit card.
