Sedona Poetry Slam

A poetry slam is like a series of high-energy, 3-minute 1-person plays, judged by 5 members of the audience. Anyone can sign up to compete in the slam. Poets will need 3 original poems, each lasting no longer than 3 minutes. No props, costumes nor musical accompaniment. All types of poetry are welcome, from hip-hop and narrative performance poems, to political rants and introspective confessionals. Any poem is a "slam" poem if performed in a competition. $75 first-place prize, $25 second-place.
