In 2024, Carson's magnetic story and musical prowess earned him national recognition with a ten-minute feature on US national "CBS Mornings" with Natalie Morales, who traveled to Sedona to interview Carson and film his show. He has also received rave reviews from Sedona magazines and newspapers. These career highlights reflect Carson's lifelong dedication to the violin, which began at age 5 and led him to perform live for over 250,000 people by age 11. With over 30 years of playing the violin, his music evolved through adulthood shaped by a passion for the healing power of music— a belief nurtured through his personal journey of overcoming challenges.

Carson’s healing path was catalyzed by a personal struggle with spasmodic dysphonia, or dystonia, a condition that robbed him of his voice in his late teens. Driven by a desire to explore alternative healing modalities rather than temporary monthly treatments, Carson delved into studies with leaders in Chinese meridian, Indian Vedic, and North American Indigenous healing traditions. Despite doctors’ predictions, Carson not only reclaimed his physical voice far beyond expectations, but also expanded his personal evolution from musician to artist, as he discovered his 'true voice' in his violin.

Rewinding to 2013, Carson's artistic transformation took a pivotal turn during a featured solo violin concert at Pitanga Hall in Auroville, India, a world center for spiritual development. After that groundbreaking performance, Carson returned home to Seattle to develop his vision as a one-man band, ultimately creating his own unique genre called Living Music™.

Today his live performances center around a recording device called a 'looper' which allows him to create multiple layers of violin and special effects captured spontaneously during the show. He uses additional pedals to build bass and rhythm parts while also weaving in a rare 19th-century Stroh (or horn) violin that brings an otherworldly nature to each entirely unique performance. The cumulative effect creates a profoundly impactful and emotional sound, guaranteed to be unlike any other violin performance the audience has experienced. Carson’s devoted love of music shines through his playful melodies and styles, from strumming his violin like a guitar to his fusion of world music soundscapes and one-of-a-kind covers of popular music from artists like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift and more.

Embracing the uniqueness of his one-man show, Carson often receives comparisons to other artists such as ‘Ed Sheeran meets Lindsey Stirling’ or ‘Jean-Luc Ponty meets Jimi Hendrix’. However he’s described, Fiddler on the Rock captivates every audience with tales of his musical journey, weaving stories and original songs that celebrate his inspirational path and the magic of his life as a Sedona resident today.

“I've performed all over the world, and playing music in the red rocks is unlike anything I've ever experienced," Carson attests. "Whether I'm in an echo chamber in the forest or performing within a spectacular vista at Posse Grounds, the impact moves right through me and into the music. It all comes alive.”
