What’s in a Trail Name? Sedona Stories with Sedona Westerner Sara Stiffler
Date:
Thursday, April 9 2026
Join Sedona Westerner Sara Stiffler as she shares historical insight into the trail names of Sedona’s hiking trails on April 9 at 10 a.m. She served as the Roundup Boss for the Westerners for two years beginning in 2023, editing 59 articles by members of the hiking group in addition to writing 17 articles, all of which appeared in the Sedona Red Rock News. Her experience hiking Sedona trails piqued her interest in Sedona history and the Sedona Westerners' role in documenting the origin of many of the trail names. After the talk, visit the Sedona Heritage Museum exhibit on the trails and see one of the original trail signs erected by the Westerners. Sedona Places & Names will be referenced turning the talk and is available for purchase in the Museum's gift shop for $10. Sedona Stories is a free monthly program of the Sedona Heritage Museum. It is held at 10 a.m. on the second Thursday of every month.
