Sedona Poetry Slam

A poetry slam is like a series of high-energy, 3-minute 1-person plays, judged by 5 members of the audience. Poets perform 3 original poems, each no longer than 3 minutes. No props, costumes nor musical accompaniment allowed. All types of poetry are possible, from hip-hop to narratives, political rants, form poems, humor & introspective confessionals. Any poem is a "slam poem" if performed in a competition. Poets can win $75 1st-place prize, $25 2nd-place. Anyone can sign up to compete.
