Outdoor films are coming to the Village! The Sedona International Film Festival is partnering with the Village of Oak Creek Association to present its “Movies on the Move” outdoor film experience on Mondays throughout the summer. Join us on Monday, June 22 when we present “Chicago: The Musical” outdoors at the Village of Oak Creek Association Park, next to the clubhouse. “Chicago”—based on the multiple Tony Award-winning Broadway musical—won six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress, Best Editing, Best Costume Design, Best Sound and Best Art Direction and was nominated for seven others, making it one of the most nominated films in history at the 2003 Oscars. Nightclub sensation Velma (Catherine Zeta-Jones) murders her philandering husband, and Chicago's slickest lawyer, Billy Flynn (Richard Gere), is set to defend her. But when Roxie (Renée Zellweger) also winds up in prison, Billy takes on her case as well—turning her into a media circus of headlines. Neither woman will be outdone in their fight against each other and the public for fame and celebrity. The magic of the musical’s timeless songs propels this intoxicating tale of scandal, corruption and cover-up, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, nonstop songs, and explosive dance numbers combine to make “Chicago” a guaranteed smash. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and relax in front of a massive outdoor movie screen. Enjoy food and beverage offerings from the festival’s “Movies on the Move” mobile concession stand. “Chicago: The Musical” will be shown outdoors at the VOC Association Park (690 Bell Rock Boulevard in the Village of Oak Creek) on Monday, June 22, at dusk. Seating will begin at 7:00 p.m. Parking is free and available onsite. Tickets are only $10 each, and kids 12 and under are free of charge.
