The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of the One Ocean Film Tour showing Jan. 10-15 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon and Mary D. Fisher Theatres. The One Ocean Film Tour is a series of ocean-loving films focused on adventure, the aquatic environment and inspirational stories. The tour was created in 2020 with the vision to increase awareness about ocean protection and conservation by sharing films made by people who have dedicated their lives to the ocean and all her glory. One Ocean Film Tour is a spectacular visual journey. Join us and immerse yourself in the mighty power of our One Ocean! One Ocean Film Tour lineup includes: I FEEL YOU In the heart of the abyss, the silent and vital soul of the ocean has preserved the balance between all forms of life for millennia. However, today this balance is gravely threatened by pollution, which advances relentlessly, suffocating the vitality of the ocean's soul. This is not just a battle for the sea but for the future of the entire planet. With nature's resilience and human will, the oceans can come back to life, becoming a symbol of hope for a cleaner and more sustainable world. SOULS “Souls” is the memoir of 6 extraordinary individuals whose lives have been deeply intertwined with the ocean. These powerhouses have set countless records, accomplished by many firsts, and pioneered groundbreaking achievements. This film shares with us their stories, experiences, challenges with the primary mission to inspire future generations of ocean advocates. THE JAGUAR HOUSE In a sleepy beach town in the Yucatan, these 4 characters intersect in a negative way. But a special forces soldier has an idea. It's a house. KOHOLĀ In the aftermath of the Lahaina wildfires, the return of the koholā (humpback whales) provides a powerful symbol of hope and healing. "Koholā" explores the cultural significance of these majestic creatures to the Hawaiian people, showcasing how their presence reaffirms ancestral connections and offers a path towards recovery. ONE SHOT Surfer Eurico Romaguera and photographer Jorge Abian set out to capture a wave in Greenland, created by a calving glacier. OUT OF THE OFFICE “Out of the Office” follows Gus Boisson, a daring sailor and dreamer, as he crosses the Atlantic to close one chapter of his life and begin another. Leaving behind a secure engineering career in Brazil, Gustavo shares his journey of adventure over stability, navigating both the literal and emotional storms of life at sea. Through humor, vulnerability, and hard-won wisdom, he shares the lessons that inspired him to help others achieve their own dreams. This film is a celebration of courage, resilience, and living life to its fullest, because as Gustavo reminds us “you never know if tomorrow will come.” IN EXILE A short film exploring the US nuclear legacy in the Pacific through the lens of members of the Marshallese community in Arkansas. Moved from their islands by the US for a series of nuclear tests in Bikini Atoll commencing in 1946, these Pacific Islanders remain in exile 78 years later. WHERE THE WINDS TAKE YOU Embracing the power of the arctic wind just 10 degrees shy of the North Pole, a sailboat captain sails North dodging icebergs, exploring remote fjords, and experiencing a close encounter with the ultimate apex predator. CORALS’ LAST STAND Perched on the edge of the continental shelf, 300km from the Australian mainland lies Scott Reef. This ancient coral atoll, isolated for millions of years from other reef systems and mainland influences, has developed its own sub populations of unique species. Formed more than 15 million years ago Scott Reef is home to more than 1200 species including endangered sea snakes, green turtles and spectacular corals. Endangered pygmy whales and other rare cetaceans stop at Scott Reef on their annual migrations to feed on the abundant krill. It is one of only a few spots along the west coast of Australia where krill can be found in sufficient quantities to replenish the needs of these large creatures. “Corals' Last Stand” follows the voyage of a team of prominent Australians including author Tim Winton and musician John Butler as they travel to the reef to bring worldwide attention to the impact that drilling will have on this special place.
