On the Brink: Earth Day and Falconers Saving a Species

Date: Wednesday, April 22 2026

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with the International Raptor and Falconry Center to present “On the Brink: Earth Day and Falconers Saving a Species” at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. Celebrate Earth Day by exploring the historical making of the first Earth Day, the Endangered Species Act, which were the crossroads of falconers that saved raptors like the Peregrine Falcon and Bald Eagle from certain extinction. Afterwards there will be a meeting of a species that remains endangered today, one that was submitted for listing but denied, and one that was successfully recovered under the Act, offering a powerful look at what conservation has accomplished and what is still at risk. Presented by Dr. Michele Losee of the International Raptor & Falconry Center, this program connects history, policy and living wildlife. The event will benefit the International Raptor and Falconry Center. “On the Brink: Earth Day and Falconers Saving a Species” will take place at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre on Wednesday, April 22 at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $15, to benefit the International Raptor and Falconry Center. For tickets and more information, please call 928-282-1177. Both the theatre and film festival office are located at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, in West Sedona. For more information, visit: www.SedonaFilmFestival.org.
