MLK Day 2022 Day of Service

This event has already finished but is here for your information

Oak Creek Watershed Council and Friends of the Verde River have collaborated this MLK Day in order to improve the overall quality of the Verde and Oak Creek watersheds!

Enjoy good deeds, feelings, and recreation this Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the cleanup project in the Dry Creek area of Sedona on the Coconino National Forest.

Game Plan: Arrive as early as 8:45 AM so that we can go over safety, supplies, and learn more about Oak Creek and its watershed. At 9, we will break into groups to target certain areas that need some TLC! At around 11:30 we will meet back at the starting point to sort and weigh the trash and recyclables and end the event with an official total amount of trash and debris removed from the watershed.

What to Bring: Bring warm hearts, hiking shoes, appropriate clothing for both the morning and afternoon in Sedona (it could be very cool in the morning to very mild by the end of the event), sunscreen, enough water for three hours, snacks and/or lunch. We will provide all cleaning supplies, including gloves, safety vests, and trash bags. Please RSVP for the event so that we can plan accordingly.
