A short drive past Doe Mountain trailhead, this spot gives you a magnificent view of the night sky from the parking lot at the beginning of Aerie Trail.

This beautiful outdoor recreation area offers some of the best stargazing in the area, with breathtaking views of the night sky over the stunning red rock formations that make Sedona famous.

Bring a blanket, a picnic and a sense of wonder as you explore the cosmos. From shooting stars and constellations to distant galaxies and nebulae, there's always something new and exciting to discover at the Aerie Trailhead.

Tip: Arrive before sunset to view the changing landscape with the cockscomb formation at twilight.

Driving Directions: From the Visitor Center, 331 Forest Road, turn right on SR 89A for 3.2 miles. Turn right on Dry Creek Road for 3.0 miles. At the stop sign, turn left onto Boynton Pass Road for 4.1 miles. Turn left on Aerie Road (past Doe Mtn.) to the trailhead parking lot.

Amenities: Restrooms available at Doe Mountain, Fay Canyon trailhead and Boynton Canyon parking lots.
