The Inaugural “VortiFest” Music Festival & Experience takes place Saturday, September 11 at Sedona Airport’ “Area One” (formerly the Masonic Lodge). Co-created by the local business and community hub Sedona Water Works and local musician and artist Brandon Decker the event brings some of Arizona’s finest music acts, a dance party, food trucks, local artisans, a kid’s zone and more.
A New Sedona Music Festival
VortiFest organizers bring the event to Sedona in a vision to generate community, art and a fun experience for all. There was a time when Sedona was rich with live music between the loss of the now-defunct Cultural Park and summer music at Martini Bar, Sedona has seen a void in the ability to see high-quality music in a family-friendly setting.
This year’s event plays host to some of Arizona’s finest acts including local “psychedelic desert rock” band decker. In addition to 12-piece Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra, Jerusafunk and The Blood Feud Family Singers. The festival has also teamed up with local dance party extraordinaires The Secret Sessions to DJ the event and the official afterparty.
What Can Attendees Expect?
The one-day music festival promises a day of fun for all ages. With more than music and DJ’s the event wlll play host to premiere Arizona food trucks offering a variety of tasty treats, craft beverage vendors, local artisans sharing their goods and a kid’s zone with exotic reptiles, face painting and more. Even better? Kids 12 and under are free!
